WHY you should be an MCEE Corporate Member
1. REQUIRED
Economics is now a required course for Michigan high school graduation. Grade Level Content Expectations and High School Content Expectations have been developed by the Michigan Department of Education for Grades K - 8. MCEE serves as the “guardian” of quality economic education content in Michigan education.
2. REACH
Through the Michigan Curriculum Framework, education standards are more driven at the state level. MCEE is the recognized content specialist to provide quality economic education for all Michigan citizens. MCEE is the organization that is educationally focused to assure “squeaky clean” Standards, Benchmarks, and Content Expectations at all grade levels and for all citizens.
3. RIGOR
Economics textbooks, programs, and materials need to be systematically assessed for quality and standards-based emphasis. The MCEE provides oversight to local school districts to ensure that economics related materials are of the highest quality, integrity, and worthiness.
4. RELATIONSHIP
It is important to maximize the allocation of resources in today’s highly competitive world. From K-12 education to adult and continuing education, MCEE serves Michigan as the connecting agent to serve corporations, organizations, and change agents together in consulting and collaborating. MCEE utilizes Michigan partnerships to provide efficient, effective economic education throughout Michigan for all Michigan citizens.
5. RESOURCES
MCEE is the only statewide academically based economic education network positioned to provide professional development, programs, research, and curriculum support to every local and intermediate school district in the state. MCEE serves every student, educator, and citizen in Michigan.
